Burnt Oak School

Burnt Oak Junior School/ Sidcup is a locally listed 2 form entry school accommodating 240 pupils.

Open Architecture were commissioned to secure planning approval for a new build extension and internal alterations of Burnt Oak Junior School for the London Borough of Bexley and develop the project from detailed design through to practical completion. The project is currently on site and due for hand-over October 2009 with a contract value of £1.4m.  

The project comprises a new build sports hall to Sports England standards, 3 new classrooms, new Learning Resource centre, and significant internal alterations designed to rationalise the internal plan form and create a new front of house administration centre. External landscaping proposals will significantly improve the external frontage whilst providing secure areas for staff, parents and pupils.
